For one hour every IC day, the televisions in the city will turn on to static, regardless of their being plugged in or not. The only way to stop this is to smash them in. During this time, the monsters will become more aggressive. They will charge into houses if they sense someone inside and generally raise hell. When a puppycat monster is destroyed during this time, it will drop an item. Sometimes the item will be very useful to you!

Sometimes the item is a dud, as in it has no special properties. Items that have special effects are marked with a very bright, very happy yellow smiley face sticker. It peels off rather easily, but only if you deliberately do it. Special items also require you to consume Energy more often than usual, depending on how much you use said item.

The item, if useful, can be one of the following; if a dud, it can be anything besides food and explicit weapons (guns, knives, etc).

Energy
The main drop of the monsters. This is the thing you need most of all. You can go several days without, but you will get very sick and eventually disappear after the fifth day. It replenishes your soul's energy so that the universe can continue to heal. It takes on the form of a steel flask with alcohol inside. The taste depends on what monster you got it from; it will always be very strong, but it may have a fruit flavor! This item can be stored for long periods of time.


Dagger
The appearance of the dagger varies. It may have engraving or it may be completely plain. The more extravagant the decorations, the more intense the effect.

Holding this dagger increases your speed and your reaction times.


Executioner's Sword
The executioner's sword is a very plain weapon with an incredibly sharp blade. It temporarily raises your strength as you swing in for a kill.


Butterfly Brooch
This brooch makes it so monsters cannot find you as easily; if you make a bunch of noise or run around in plain sight you'll be seen, but if you are trying to hide you will be very well hidden.


Cross Necklace
This necklace slows the loss of blood, and keeps you conscious through extreme pain.


Quartz Pendant
This pendant will help the healing of wounds. The intensity increases with the size; a large pendant will make wounds heal up to twice as fast. Its effects do not stack.


Fang Necklace
This necklace prevents poisoning.


Fish Scale
A shimmering scale that allows its bearer to breathe underwater.


Scroll of Skill
An ornate scroll in a variety of colours, which grants a one-time use of another character's powers or abilities.


Banishing Bomb
This small capsule will teleport whatever it strikes up to a mile away in a random direction, usually accompanied by blue smoke. One use per bomb.


Tamer's Whip
This weapon will temporarily charm any monster it strikes, forcing it to fight for the wielder. (2 minute duration/strike)


Cat-Ear Hood
A hood that makes its wearer move more quickly and evade attacks more easily.


Membership Card
Causes monsters to drop items more frequently. The useful/dud frequency remains unchanged.
